Plus Waco Comics is the city’s first comic book publisher and on Friday night celebrates the release of Plus Universe: Alpha, its inaugural title. Come by Cultivate 7twelve from 7 pm to 10 pm to buy a signed copy, meet the company’s cofounders, and enjoy cocktails from a menu designed specifically for the event.
Saturday night brings the finals of Jonna Mae’s Kitchen, the Texas Music Cafe’s multiweek songwriter competition, at Nexus Esports. Who will win: The Union Revival, Larissa Boyd, or Alex Coba? And there’s more music after that from Lilly and The Implements and Dustin Brown and The Now.
Valentine’s Day is always a fraught affair. What kind of gift is appropriate without being too much or too little? And then, oh my, where to go and what to do? Thankfully, brunch always works, and Stay Classy Waco’s I Love You a BRUNCH on Sunday features a menu from Nancy’s Cocina and special Valentine’s-themed cocktails. So relax already!
