Professional Artists of Central Texas (PACT) Exhibition, Kristen Bird, and wht.rbbt.obj
The final day of the Professional Artists of Central Texas (PACT) exhibition at Art Center Waco is Saturday, and if you haven’t seen the pieces from the 17 artists represented, you owe it to yourself to head over there. Plus, Saturday is also Family Exhibit Day, with PACT artists Susan L. Sistrunk and Chesley Smith giving kid-centered gallery talks at 10 am and 1 pm, each of which will be followed by a guided art lesson.
The gallery talks are free, but the guided art lessons are $5, so register now.
Houston-based author Kristen Bird will be at Fabled Bookshop & Cafe on Tuesday night to discuss and sign copies of I Love It When You Lie, her latest book. It’s the story of three sisters, each of whom has a man in her life she’d be better off without. And from that starting point, things are increasingly not what they seem in this suspense novel.
This is a free event, but space is limited, so register online to secure your spot.
The enigmatic wht.rbbt.obj (“white rabbit object”) plays next Wednesday night at Texas Music Cafe. The four-piece Chicago band has a bluesy, raw sound that James VanOsdol, host of Car Con Carne, describes as “last call in a laundry list of bad decisions.”
