As part of this fall’s ARTPrenticeship mural project at the Dr Pepper Museum, the museum is hosting Make Your Mark: An ARTPrenticeship Showcase, which opens on Friday, November 12, from 5 pm – 7 pm, and continues through December. Meet the current group of apprentices and their mentors to find out how this program is making an impact in Waco.
Also on Friday, Lovely Enterprises is having its Holiday Pop-Up shopping event from 5 pm – 8 pm. Not only can you get a head start on buying gifts for family and friends, but you’ll also be supporting women-owned businesses in Waco. And on Saturday afternoon, check out the Gears & Beers car show at Southern Roots Brewing Co. In addition to seeing some sweet rides, Jennifer Pisarcik and Jon Fox perform from 1 pm – 3 pm.
(Want a preview? Listen to Pisarcik’s version of “Dream a Little Dream of Me” from our Song of the Week series.)

Song of the Week: Rad Dragon’s “Coping Hazards”
Central Texas punk rock band Rad Dragon is known for its high-energy songs such as “Coping Hazards.” Their love for performing carries into their live shows, which sparks energetic audiences in return.
“I love seeing people really getting into the music we wrote. It’s still kinda surreal, especially seeing just how much energy the crowds can bring,” said lead singer and rhythm guitarist Josh Riddle. “The smaller the spot, the more intense the crowd usually is, and we love it.”

“Making Their Mark: An ARTPrenticeship Showcase”
Creative Waco’s eight-week ARTPrenticeship program allows Waco ISD students to get involved in the art world while preparing for the future. Open to juniors and seniors, the paid internships let the students selected expand their skills and gain valuable experience for their resumes.
The apprentices are currently working on a mural behind the Dr Pepper Museum on Tuesdays and Saturdays that’s scheduled for completion at the end of November.
