First Friday in Waco always brings interesting things to do, and one of the most intriguing this month is the opening of Russell Campbell’s Ohms: A Showcase of Sound & Color at the Susan L. Sistrunk Fine Art Gallery. Campbell is a mixed media and abstract artist specializing in acrylics and is also a co-founder of The Goon Squad, Waco’s underground art collective.
On Saturday afternoon, craft beer — and music! — lovers should check out the first annual Beer on the Brazos Festival. Enjoy craft beer from local and regional breweries as well as performances by The Union Revival, Jennifer Pisarcik, The Oxford Comma, and Martian Folk. And on Tuesday night, Wild Imaginings presents another installment in the Waco Contemporary Play Series with a staged reading of Lee Blessings’ A Body of Water at Rogue Media Network.
