Summer’s here, the sun is out, and big public events are a thing again. So why not head out this Saturday to the Nacho Daddy Car and Bike Show at Warren Park in Hewitt? This free BYOB event also features live music, and lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and leashed pets are welcome. Plus, enjoy food from vendors including Artisan Oven, Dave’s Burger Barn, and HighFive HotDogs.
Waco has plenty going on every weekend, but there’s more happening during the week too. On Monday, Stephany Chavira plays at Hemingway’s Watering Hole, where you can also get a burger from Dave’s. And on Wednesday, The Goon Squad, Waco’s underground art collective, has a show at the Rogue Media Network studio in downtown Waco.
In our recommended reads and podcasts section, learn about a highly praised education app to keep your youngest ones learning this summer instead of watching yet more television or playing video games. Ellie Sheesley shares cookie and cupcake recipes, and get tips for digital wellness in an increasingly technology-driven world.
