Waco Civic Theatre leans into the drama over the next three weekends with sharp staging and a cast that knows how to land every beat. If you’ve only seen the movie, you’re missing the thrill of seeing it come alive right in front of you.
Two rising voices in Texas country—Sami Brown and Morgan Lee Powers—are bringing their honky-tonk hearts to The Will this Friday night. Brown’s got a voice like weathered cedar: smooth, strong, and liable to splinter you if you’re not listening. And Powers? She can hush a room with a whisper or knock the dust off the rafters with a line that cuts deep.
It’s a double bill with no filler: Two artists chasing something real out past the Waco city limits.
