Bellmead Burgers & Brews Festival, Art Center Waco's Eclectic Vintage Art Sale, and Z: The Story of David Zychek
This Saturday in Bellmead, the annual Burgers & Brews Festival is flipping the script. Forget your typical burger contest—this year it’s all about the brews with a craft beer showdown that’ll have you sampling the best pints from local breweries like Bare Arms, Southern Roots, and others. Each brewery is bringing its two top beers for you to taste and help crown a winner.
But don’t worry, there’s still killer food from Lefty's Burgers, Chefito's, and more, plus live music, games, and local vendors to keep everyone fueled and entertained—admission’s free, so just show up at the Bellmead Civic Center at noon and let loose.
Here’s the deal: This Saturday at Art Center Waco, they’re practically giving away piles of art, books, and posters at prices that feel like a heist. We’re talking 50+ paintings, stacks of posters, and over 150 art books, all waiting for someone with a couple of bucks and some wall space.
Plus, they’ve got a Kids' Corner where your little ones can score their own treasures for a few bucks, and a food truck to keep you fueled up. It’s art for everyone, and no one has to leave empty-handed.
Listen up, folks—Z: The Story of David Zychek has its premiere at the Waco Hippodrome Theatre next Tuesday night, and if you have any love for rock ‘n’ roll, you’ll be there. This isn’t just a documentary; it’s a raw, unfiltered dive into the life of a Texas guitar legend that the world criminally overlooked, with heavyweights like Ted Nugent weighing in on his legacy.
You’ll experience never-before-seen footage, hear stories that'll blow your mind, and maybe even feel the ghost of Zychek himself shredding through the screen. And the best part? The cast and crew will be there in person, ready to raise a glass and rock out after the show.
