Little Joe Y La Familia & Shakey Graves, Black Glasses Film Festival, and 64th Annual Waco Gem & Mineral Show
Hands down, the City of Waco is knocking it out of the park this year—and let’s be honest… that’s the case every year!—with the Brazos Nights concert series. Less than a month ago, over the weekend before the eclipse, there were three nights of shows with artists ranging from Big Boi to Dwight Yoakum, and this Friday it’s time to head downtown again to Indian Spring Park to hear Little Joe Y La Familia and Shakey Graves.

Fans of film know the Hippodrome is the place to be on Saturday night for the Black Glasses Film Festival. Sponsored by Baylor’s Department of Film and Digital Media, this event is dedicated to exhibiting the best of the past year’s student work in filmmaking and screenwriting. Originally started by film students in 1999, it has grown into an annual event that gives students opportunities to reach wider audiences both at Baylor and throughout the greater Waco area.
Tickets are only $3 to $7 and are available online.
And if you want a little bit of outside and inside rolled into one, the Lee Lockwood Library and Museum hosts the 64th Annual Waco Gem and Mineral Show on Saturday and Sunday. Sponsored by the Waco Gem & Mineral Club, an eclectic group of individuals who share a passion for earth sciences, everybody is welcome to come learn about the natural world we inhabit.
