Waco Indie Film Festival, B-Flat Dueling Pianos, and Creating Simple Books: An Adult Summer Camp
Most film festivals want you to sit still and behave—Waco Indie wants to jolt you. This year’s lineup throws you from a locally shot Christmas movie to a fame-junkie YouTuber spiraling into madness, then slams the brakes for the story of a diner waitress chasing grace after tragedy.
It’s story-first, genre-be-darned programming—and if you’re not getting tossed off the mechanical bull at Brotherwell Brewing at some point, you’re doing it wrong.

Because sometimes you don’t need art—you need chaos in the key of Billy Joel and maniacs banging out crowd requests like it’s a honky-tonk Thunderdome. B-Flat Dueling Pianos isn’t subtle, but neither is joy, and this Saturday at Twisted Sisters, it’s all crazy cocktails, belt-alongs, and zero shame.
You better be hoarse and grinning by last call. Otherwise, check your pulse—stat.

Done with doomscrolling? Make something real with your hands. Baylor’s Book Arts & Letterpress Lab is hosting a three-week summer workshop where you’ll learn to build simple handmade books you can fill with more than just blank pages.
It’s part adult summer camp, part creative escape. Every Tuesday afternoon from July 22 to August 5, you’ll walk out with paper, ink, and ideas that stick.
