6th Annual Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival, Waitress: The Musical, and Kevin Daniel
The sixth annual Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival, running Thursday through Saturday, brings together powerful storytelling with a mission to unite and inspire. This year’s lineup features films like Hidden Blessings and West, Texas: Rising from Rubble at Lee Lockwood Library and Museum, alongside panels with Hollywood executives and a closing performance by New York’s Battery Dance.
As always, this festival isn’t just about watching movies—it’s about expanding perspectives and strengthening the bonds that hold communities together.
Love, regret, and way too much sugar—Waitress: The Musical serves up a story that hits like a gut punch wrapped in pie crust, and missing it means depriving yourself of something raw, funny, and deeply human. Waco Civic Theatre is bringing the heartbreak, the hope, and the songs that stick to your ribs, proving that a good musical doesn’t need spectacle when it has soul.
(Skip it, and you’ll be stuck staring at the same four walls, wondering why you let a night of music, laughter, and messy, complicated life slip through your fingers.)
Kevin Daniel doesn’t play Americana: He bleeds it, sweat-streaked and whiskey-soaked, with a voice that sounds like it’s lived through everything he’s singing about. His show on Saturday night at Texas Music Cafe isn’t just another gig, it’s a transmission straight from the heart, where country, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll crash together in the kind of beautiful wreckage that makes you feel alive.
People talk about authenticity like it’s a marketing gimmick, but Kevin Daniel walks on stage and proves it’s something you either have or you don’t—and he’s got it in spades.
