Fourth on the Brazos with Sister Sledge, Improv Theatre Day Camp, and Milo's Summer School Series with Jane Damron
If you’ve got even half a pulse and the faintest flicker of patriotism, you’ll be at the City of Waco’s annual Fourth on the Brazos concert this Friday night—because where else can you eat funnel cake and scream “We Are Family” at the top of your lungs while Sister Sledge slaps your soul at McLane Stadium’s Touchdown Alley?
The whole thing’s a fireworks-fueled celebration of freedom with unironic flag-waving that’ll make your inner teenager fist-pump and your inner cynic take a seat. It’s not just Waco’s biggest free party of the year—it’s what happens when democracy meets disco and blows up over the river.
So what if it’s the Fourth of July weekend? Skip the sunburn and get crazy at The Performing Arts Community Center’s Improv Theatre Day Camp on Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. It’s a full-day free-for-all of brain-frying games, off-the-rails characters, and that beautiful chaos where failure is part of the fun.
If you’ve ever wanted to be faster, weirder, louder—or just finally say yes to something—this is your shot.
Milo kicks off its new “summer school” series on Monday the way it does everything else—thoughtfully plated, slightly elevated, and rooted in real substance. Baylor’s Dr. Jane Damron brings the main course: a sharp, engaging look at how our communication styles give (and receive) support in close relationships, drawn from years of qualitative research and classroom insight.
Come for the snacks, stay for the conversation—and leave with something stickier than a cocktail napkin quote.
