'The Wizard of Oz' Shadowcast, Dr Pepper Museum's Back to School Bash, and Central Texas Jazz Society's Jazz Jam
When is a movie more than just a movie? When it’s a shadowcast, which combines the enjoyment of watching a beloved film with the thrill of live theater and the fun of interactive participation!
In the land of Oz, Dorothy and her dog Toto journey to find the Wizard who can help her return home to Kansas. Along the way, they befriend a Scarecrow, a Tin Man, and a Cowardly Lion, each seeking something they believe they lack. Join Waco Civic Theatre’s shadowcast, and help bring this classic tale to life with the magic of the yellow brick road at 2 pm and 7 pm on Saturday.
The Dr Pepper Museum is calling all educators and school employees! As a way to celebrate and thank them for all their hard work as the new school year begins, they’ll get free admission on Sunday, August 4. Just show proof of employment at the entrance and enjoy a day of fun and nostalgia.
The Central Texas Jazz Society’s monthly jazz jam returns to Segovia Wine Bar on Sunday afternoon with the Chuck Jennings Quartet as the house band. If you’re a player, get ready to bring it. If you’re a fan, prepare yourself to hear some of the best musicians around. Plus, enjoy Segovia’s Spanish menu and selection of fine wine, craft cocktails, and local beer.
