Because sometimes the only way to deal with grief, ghosts, and grown-ups is to raise the dead and break into song. Beetlejuice JR. at Waco Civic Theatre this weekend channels that strange and wonderful place where eyeliner meets exorcism and Broadway learns how to misbehave.
If you’ve ever wanted to see chaos tap-dance in stripes and fishnets, this is your shot—just don’t say his name three times unless you mean it.
Ever wonder why some streets get fixed while others crumble like stale Saltines? This month’s Waco Walks tour pulls back the curtain on city spending, Strong Towns-style—where your taxes go, who decides, and why half the sidewalks feel like they were designed during a punk show mosh pit.
It’s civic engagement with a pulse, starting at Anthem STORIES at 9 am and winding through the kind of infrastructure most folks ignore until it buckles underfoot.
Saturday night at The Backyard is straight-up time travel for anyone who ever slow-danced in a parking lot or bumped “Suga Suga” with the bass turned all the way up. MC Magic, Baby Bash, and Lil Rob bring the G-funk grooves and Chicano rap anthems that defined an era.
Whether you’re chasing nostalgia or just want to feel something cooler than the Spotify algorithm, this one’s got West Coast lowrider soul written all over it.
