Much Ado About Nothing, Dale Watson & His Lone Stars, and Historic Waco's Attic Treasures
Much Ado About Nothing has always been about verbal swordplay, lust, and ego-fueled disasters, and this production leans all the way in—big hair, bigger emotions, and the biggest misunderstandings. If Shakespeare were alive in the 1980s and taking fashion cues from Miami Vice, he'd be throwing a wedding party exactly like this one in Naples, Florida—with Silent House Theatre Company at the helm and synths humming in the background at Historic Waco’s Earle-Harrison House this weekend and next.
And let’s be honest: if you’ve never seen a fancy-pants Shakespearean duel break out on a manicured Gulf Coast lawn, maybe it’s time you did.
Dale Watson doesn’t just play country—he mainlines the ghost of every honky-tonk hero who ever passed a hat and lit a cigarette. This is barstool philosophy with a Telecaster twang: equal parts Sun Records swagger and Texas grit. If you miss his show on Saturday night at The Will, you’re probably the kind of person who thinks “Ameripolitan” is just a typo.
(And c’mon, who wants to be THAT person?)
Historic Waco’s annual Attic Treasures rummage sale is back, offering bargain hunters a chance to dig through a trove of gently used finds—furniture, décor, oddities, and more. This year, they’ve teamed up with The Shepherd’s Heart to host the event at 205 South 26th Street, turning treasure hunting into a way to support two local nonprofits at once.
Swing by June 14–15 or June 21–22, and be prepared to root, rummage, and leave with something you didn’t know you needed.
